Data sharing

Wizart PIM enables manufacturers and retailers/distributors to share and manage product data seamlessly, giving manufacturers full control while providing retailers with the ability to request and use specific product information. The system ensures that only approved data is shared, and manufacturers retain the ability to track the usage of their shared products through Google Data Studio.

Requesting Data from Manufacturers

Retailers and distributors can request access to product data from manufacturers directly within the Wizart PIM. This allows them to use specific brands, collections, or articles in their visualizer setup. To do this, retailers must first navigate to the "Request Products" tab, where they can browse available products and send a request to the manufacturer.

Once the manufacturer processes the request and approves access, the shared data will appear in the retailer's "Shared Products" tab within 10 minutes. This process allows retailers to streamline their data access without having to upload it manually, while the manufacturer maintains full control over what is shared and how it is used.

Processing Data Sharing Requests

Manufacturers can manage and process incoming data sharing requests from retailers in the “Share Products” tab. Once a request is approved, the manufacturer can choose to share entire brands or specific collections. Once shared, the data becomes available in the retailer's "Shared Products" tab. Manufacturers have the ability to revoke access or make changes to the shared data at any time.

Data Usage and Tracking

Manufacturers can track the usage of their shared product data by retailers via Google Data Studio. This reporting gives insight into how products are being used in visualizers, helping manufacturers understand product visibility and performance.

Cold and Hot Data

In Wizart PIM, product attributes are categorized as Cold Data or Hot Data. This classification determines what data can be updated by retailers once the product is shared.

  • Cold Data: Attributes that cannot be changed by retailers. These include critical business attributes such as the brand, collection, SKU, and immutable product data like physical dimensions and visualization details (e.g., pattern repeat, reverse 180). Retailers can view Cold Data but are unable to edit it.

  • Hot Data: Attributes that can be updated by retailers.

    • Hot + Content: Retailers receive the pre-filled content provided by the manufacturer and can modify or update these fields.

    • Hot: Retailers are given empty fields they can fill with their own data but do not receive the original manufacturer content.

Retailers can update any Hot Data for products shared with them, allowing them to customize product details without altering the core product information.
