When working with products in Wizart PIM, certain materials may require the use of seams to create a realistic layout. Seams are visible divisions between product units (such as tiles or planks) that help maintain the authenticity of a material’s appearance when applied to a surface.

Supported Materials for Seams:

Seams can be configured for the following Product Types:

  • Tile

  • Laminate

  • Engineered Wood Flooring

  • Hardwood Flooring

  • Vinyl Flooring

At this time, a single product can only have one seam color assigned. If multiple colors are needed for different edges or sections, they must be handled through product variants.

Seam Setup Options:

When using Wizart's automatic layout generation, you can control how seams between tiles are handled. You have two options for configuring seams:

Wizart-Generated Seams:

  • Enable Seam Generation: To have Wizart automatically generate seams between tiles, set the edge_selection column in the import file to Yes.

  • Default Seam Color: By default, the seam color will be calculated based on the average color of the tile or material, ensuring a natural transition between tiles.

  • Custom Seam Color: If you want to specify the seam color yourself, enter the desired RGB values (e.g., 255,255,255 for white) in the edge_color column of the import file. This will apply the selected color to all seams within the layout.

Important: For Wizart to handle the seams properly, ensure your tile images do not already include visible seams. Otherwise, you might end up with double seams (the original seam from the image plus the one generated by Wizart).

User-Uploaded Images with Seams:

  • Disable Seam Generation: If your uploaded images already include visible seams (e.g., grout lines or borders), set the edge_selection column in the import file to No. This will tell Wizart not to generate additional seams.

  • Seam Alignment: With this option, your image seams will appear exactly as they do in the uploaded files, allowing you to maintain complete control over the final layout.

Important: Failing to set edge_selection to No when your images already contain seams will result in double seams—one from the image itself and another added by Wizart during the layout generation process.
