RUG – requirements for textures provided by the client for visualization

As for the quality criteria for further use, we can categorize them as images that are free from artifacts and meet the following requirements:

  1. File format: PNG – the image background should be transparent.

  2. Color model: RGB.

  3. Image resolution: A minimum value for good visualization is 1000 pixels or more on the longer side. It should be noted that the quality of visualization directly depends on the quality of the texture.

  4. The image should have high levels of detail.

  5. There should be no artifacts in the image (such as noise, blurriness, compression artifacts, etc.). It is possible to see the details with the link: General requirements

  6. The image should be perpendicular to the camera. Distortion of perspective is not allowed.

  1. The image should be absolutely completed.

  1. The image should not have any frame, including the transparent pixels.

For products with transparent elements, it is necessary to set appropriate transparency values in those areas.

  1. The image should be cropped along the edge of the picture to avoid distortion of the actual dimensions and proportions of the product during rendering.

In case the client's data does not meet the specified parameters, an estimation is required to bring the data in line with the requirements.
