Overview:

When importing products into Wizart PIM, it's crucial to provide accurate information about your product dimensions. This ensures that your products are visualized correctly using Wizart products for visualization. While most fields are required, a few parameters like pattern dimensions may only need to be specified in certain cases. Here's a breakdown of the key fields and when to use them.

Required Fields:

  • Product Type: https://wizart.atlassian.net/wiki/x/CAAZuw

  • Product Name: The name of the product.

  • Collection Name: The name of the collection where the product belongs. All products from the same collection will be grouped together.

  • Brand Name: The brand that owns the product. All collections from the same brand will be grouped in the catalog.

  • Unique SKU ID: A unique code for the product in your database, used to link the PIM system with your e-catalog.

  • Product Image: The name of the image file or multiple images files (without the extension) uploaded in the ZIP file.

  • Product Sizes:

    • Product Width: The real, physical width of the product in meters.

This is required for visualization and ensures the product is applied correctly on surfaces. Is not required for liquid materials (paint, plaster).
  • Product Length: The real, physical length of the product in meters. This is used for visualization but is not required for wallpapers, paints, or plaster, as they are either liquid materials or their length is irrelevant.

Pattern Dimensions:
    • Product Length: The real, physical length of the product in meters.

    • Pattern Width: The width of the visible part of the product in the uploaded image, in meters.

    • Pattern Length: The length of the visible part of the product in the uploaded image, in meters.

Automatic Layout Generation will be turned on or off based on which size fields are filled during product import:

  • If Product Width and Product Length are filled and product type supports automatic layout, Wizart will automatically attempt to generate layouts for the product. This feature uses these dimensions to create accurate layouts and ensure proper visualization of the product on surfaces. Learn more about Automatic Layout Generation.

  • If Pattern Width and Pattern Length are filled instead, the uploaded image will be recognized as a pre-designed layout. In this case, automatic layout generation is turned off, and the system assumes the provided image represents the final layout.

Important Notes:

While Product Width and Product Length refer to the real-world dimensions of the product, sometimes the visible part in the image you upload differs from the product size. This happens in cases where the image represents several products together or a prepared layout. When the visible part differs, you must provide Pattern Width and Pattern Length to ensure correct visualization. Note:

To decide whether Automatic Layout Generation or manual layout configuration is better suited to your needs:

  1. Check if your product type supports automatic layouts. Refer to the https://wizart.atlassian.net/wiki/

  • Pattern Width: The width of the visible part of the product in the uploaded image, in meters. This is rarely required but should be used if the visible part of the product is different from the actual product size.

  • Pattern Length: The length of the visible part of the product in the uploaded image, in meters. Like the width, this is rarely required, except when the visible part differs from the actual size. For wallpapers, length is not used, and for paint and plaster, dimensions aren’t needed at all.

Optional but Important Fields

While the following fields are not strictly required, they offer powerful ways to enhance product visualization and customization within Wizart solutions. These fields enable you to define additional layouts, set extra product information, and make your data more flexible, which can be crucial for creating an accurate and rich visual experience for end users.

  • Layout Field: This field allows you to define additional layouts for how the product can be visualized. While not required, setting up this field during import will enable your product to be displayed in multiple supported patterns (e.g., herringbone, parquet) when used in Wizart’s visualization tools. This flexibility ensures your customers can see how the material would look when applied using different styles.
